It never ceases to surprise me how many people treat their website like a static brochure for their business. Why would you waste such an amazing opportunity to automate and streamline your business? (if this sounds like a lot of high faluting “tech” or IT speak bear with me ….I’m not a techie but I am a time-pressed working mum who wants *needs!* to work efficiently so I automate as much of my business as possible – why wouldn’t you!?  BTW, I shared my Top 10 Favourite Online Marketing Tools in a guest post for Women Unlimited recently.

Two examples illustrate what I mean:

On a recent workshop one business owner wanted to know how to upload an application form so her clients could download it, fill it in, and scan it and email it back to her.  (I loved the look on her face when she realised this whole process could be automated and her client’s details collected, collated and stored online!)

And this week (on our first WordPress Club call!) someone asked if they should put their bank details on their website so people could pay for a course (NO!!!)

Instead, put a PayPal button on your site. This is a safe way of taking payments and most people are familiar with PayPal (plus there are lots of payment options so people are more likely to buy from you)

If you need help, here’s a video showing you how to add a PayPal button to your site
