How to Embed Facebook Live Stream Videos on Your Website

Facebook Live is one of the best ways to build your audience online and increase engagement. But going live is just the beginning. Now you’ve created that content it’s time to leverage it to increase your impact and income online.

**UPDATE – You can now schedule your Facebook Live Stream within Facebook – This blog post shows you how**

Here’s how to embed Facebook Live stream videos on your website:

#1 WATCH THE VIDEO

TOP TIP

I recommend live streaming from your Facebook page (not within a group, especially a closed group) for two reasons:

#1 You can more easily get the embed code and embed the video on your blog or website to get more traction from it

#2 You can share your FB Live video from your FB Page into Facebook groups, but not the other way round (as I found to my peril after I’d been live streaming in my closed Facebook group recently). You also cannot generate the embed code within the Facebook code generator for videos that have been streamed in a closed group. Lesson learnt – don’t make the same mistake I did!

#3 Thirdly, if you live stream through your Facebook page you can run ads to your video and get a lot more traction that way.

2 STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Choose your URL

Pick the URL of the Facebook video you want to embed. There are 2 ways to do this:

#1 Right click on the video itself and you’ll see the “embed code” option

#2 Click on the time stamp for the post to get its full URL

2. Code Configurator

Paste the URL to the Code Configurator and click the “Get Code” button to generate your embedded video player code.

3. Copy & Paste the iframe code (for WordPress)

Copy and paste the iframe code into your blog or website
